ANNA (1967) In French with NO subtitles. This made for TV French musical is a surreal adventure with the beautiful  Anna Karina.  Ms. Karina began her career in Jean Luc Godard's Alphaville, Made In USA, Pierrot Le Fou, A Woman is a Woman, and Le Petite Soldat. Her charisma and charm are addictive, and this is a must for fans of her work. 

AN HOUR WITH PINK FLOYD Watch Pink Floyd perform Atom Heart Mother and other songs without an ocrhestra in a studio. Excellent tape.

PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON SHORT FILM COLLECTION "The Dirk Diggler Story" Made by Anderson when he was just 17 years old, and edited with two VCRs,  this documentary film about the rise and fall of porn star Dirk Diggler would later be rewritten and shot as Boogie Nights .  "Cigarettes & Coffee" (1993) This Anderson short consists of three stories which ultimately become intertwined. Hard Eight may have been a rewriting of this film, and Magnolia contains some similarities as well.

APOCALYPSE NOW WORKPRINT 288 min. 3 DVD set Without a doubt the best print around of this rare cut of the brilliant epic.

BEGOTTEN (1991) directed by E. Elias Merhige. The director of Shadow of the Vampire entered the film world with this hard to find cult classic that punches you in the forehead within the first five minutes. Begotten is shot in grainy black and white and presents itself as an art film that creates a metaphor that may have a myriad of interpretations. God disembowels himself, Mother Earth gives birth to the Son of Earth and the beatings begin. If you haven't heard of this one, just trust me, it may bring you to better things.

BIBLE OF SKIN  An odd montage of imagery and distorted reality; a must for fans of the great Stan Brakhage. 

THE BLACK DEVIL DOLL FROM HELL (1984)  This garbage bag of filth was shot on video and is best described as the blackexpoitation version of Child's Play. 

BREAKING POINT (1976) directed by Bob Clark. From the director of Black Christmas and Deathdream comes this hard to find 70's action flick. A man witnesses a crime and testifies, but he will soon be ruthlessly hunted for his crime on the crime world.

FELLINI'S CASANOVA aka Fellini's Casanova (1976)  Directed by Federico Fellini and Starring Donald Sutherland. A rare find

CEMETERIES WITHOUT CROSSES (1969) Written by Dario Argento. Hossien is drawn into a murder plot by his ex-lover in this purely visual film. Excellent print.

CONSPIRACY OF HERESY (2 DVDs) This Ted Gunderson 4 hour lecture covers every conspiracy and adds more. His theories bake under the idea that the satanic illuminati controls all: election fixes, child slaves, and drug running. If your a fan of conspiracy theories, this will become your night light.

CHARLES MANSON INTERVIEWS and COURT PROCEEDINGS (2 DVDs) Tom Snyder interviews Manson along with other interviews and court room rants.

CHESTY ANDERSON U.S. NAVY (1976) Chesty Anderson films are exactly what you expect, just sexy women running around with all glands popping out, but this one has a cameo by Timothy Carey as a thug who clucks like a chicken.

CLONES OF BRUCE LEE (1977) Bruce Lee is dead, and they had to make more money with people like Bruce Le and Bruce Lea. This pseudo-documentary displays the idea that these capitalized intruders are actual clones of the original bad ass, Bruce Lee.

THE CLOWN MURDERS (1976) John Candy stars in this clowns gone wild film; a group of fools dress up like clowns and kidnap a friend, but the plan goes horribly bad when a mysterious clown shows up to follow through with murder.

COME PLAY WITH ME Starring Brigitte Lahaie

CRYING DEMONS Demon possession and exorcisms reign in blood in this church made presentation of what really happens during the expulsion of evil powers.

CUL-DE-SAC  (1966) B&W/ Directed by Roman Polanski Starring Donald Pleasance.  One of Roman Polanski's first films.  A wounded criminal and his dying partner take refuge in a young couples home.  eventually the four become strangely acquainted.  

THE CUT THROATS aka The Cut Throat Commandoes (1969) Captain Kohler recruits an outfit of five American soldiers besides himself (dubbed "The Cut-Throats,") to attack a German stronghold to capture battle plans... although his real motive is to steal a cache of jewels that is Nazi plunder. After the enemy soldiers are gunned down, the beautiful women in the compound treat The Dirty Half-Dozen to a stage show and, later, themselves. The Cut Throats does a interesting job of mixing cowboy and WWII film motifs to make interesting plot twists and characters.

DARK MISSION (1988) Directed by Jess Franco & Starring Christopher Lee and Brigitte Lahaie. Franco directs this low-budget action film about secret agents, cocaine, and Cuba.

DEAD KENNEDY'S COMPILATION See Jello Biafra run around ranting about politics and see Jello play live with the great Dead Kennedys.

DEATH WISH 2 UNCUT One of the most depressing revenge flicks. In this uncut, X rated version, everything is worse, and Charles Bronson plays the internally bruised, vengeful machine perfectly.

DECODER (1984) directed by Muscha. A man wants to fight against the muzak that accompanies his lunch at a local hamburger restaurant. This German cult classic uses cinematography, rhythmic editing, William Burroughs (who is clearly an inspiration to the filmmakers), and stock riot footage to create a film that puts you inside the figurative language of the script. A film that truly calls for multiple viewings and thoughts.

DOBERMANN (1997) English Subtitled. Starring Vincent Cassel and Monica Belucci. After a brutal bank robbery, the Dobermann and his gang are being hunted by the sadistic Christini, and she will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Dobermann stands as an odd ride through strange characters and disgusting situations. If your a Takashi Miike fan, you will want this beside his catalog.

DON'T LOOK AT ME (1989) This documentary on the director of Eraserhead and Blue Velvet is very stylish and original in presentation.  Lynch rides around Los Angeles with the late Jack Nance in the backseat as the two discuss their creative history.  A must for fans of David Lynch. 

DREAMS (1955) directed by Ingmar Bergman. Two women, a fashion editor nearing her mid-thirties and a model who's just twenty, go to Gothenburg for a photo shoot. Suzanne calls her lover, desperate to see him. Doris, the model, is stopped on the street by an elegant older man who offers to buy her the gown she is eyeing in a boutique window. Later that day, each women meets up with her man, and seduction seems imminent until each is interrupted by another woman, in one case, a wife, in another, a daughter. Desire and self-respect, aging and failure play out in both encounters. Suzanne and Doris look for lessons learned, and an unlikely friendship evolves.

DU-BEAT-E-O (1984) An in debt filmmaker forces people at gunpoint to help him finish his film in this unprecedented look at the raw underside of the LA punk scene. Joan Jett performs in the revamping of the punk scene--truly an obscure piece of trash.

EAT the DOCUMENT (1972) This film was originally intended to be a concert film for television, but was re-edited by Dylan to include backstage footage, private jam sessions, and sight-seeing in the cities of the tour. Presented without narration, it is a rather incomprehensible film, but it does capture the hectic and tedious feeling of the life of a musician on the road. A definate "must-see" for hardcore fans of Bob Dylan, his work, and his history. Also included: Cab ride with John Lennon and Bob Dylan, Footage from a television special (late 60's?) with a very young Bob Dylan  playing two solo tunes, and one duet with Johnny Cash. Studio outtake footage with Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, Television  news special about Dylan and his career, with interviews (post-Live Aid)

EXECUTIVE ACTION (1973) Starring Burt Lancaster. Before Oliver Stone's JFK, there was this little known jem from the 70s. A group of right wing businessmen and politicians get together to take back America by putting together an operation that will assissinate John F. Kennedy. This film was so controversial that it actually disappeared; someone didn't want these ideas floating around. Eventually the film was slowly leaked out. A must see for the conspiracy fiends.

THE FINISHING SCHOOL (1969) Known as the precursor to Suspiria, The Finishing School is about a woman who owns a school for young girls; through secret teachings, the girls become accustomed to sex, lesbianism, and torture.

FORCED IMPACT (1975) A completely bad ass cop movie from Italy. A cop is fed up with the way criminals just seep through the law and decides to be ruthless in his fight, but he is kicked off the force to become even worse.

FORKLIFT DRIVER KLAUS (2000) No Subtitles. This German made, Evil Dead camera worked instructional video for forklift drivers is as gory as it comes. Trust me, you need to watch this after every screening of the greatest horror trilogy--if you don't know what trilogy of which I speak, you don't belong here.

FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH (1956) Directed by Orson Welles. A scientist finds the key to eternal youth and tricks a young couple into fighting over it. This made for television short incorporates photographs and Welles' brilliant style into an excellent experience. This DVD also includes a television production of King Lear with Orson Welles in the lead role.

ROBERT FRIPP: CAREFUL WITH THAT AXE Documentary on the pretentiuosly fun leader of King Crimson. This collection also includes some early King Crimson footage during Larks Tongue and Aspic, plus a Frank Zappa documentary.

JOHN FRUSCIANTE INTERVIEW PLUS LIVE KENTUCKY 1997/ ELECTRIC SET Before Frusciante cleaned himself from heroin, there was an interview by a Danish film crew that captured the broken shell of a man close to death. An interesting study on Frusciante and drug abuse. The tape also contains and outdoor live set and an electric set with the bass player from Fishbone.

FUN (1994) Starring Alicia Witt. Two young girls get together, eat ice cream, and kill and old woman. A great art film that asks the audience to sympathize with the beasts.

GENESIS: THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY LIVE After getting mind fucked by Jodorowsky's El Topo, Peter Gabriel created his great concept album, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. The only footage that exists is this: silent 8mm footage that has now been synced up with live soundtrack and photos. A must for fans of early Genesis--the only Genesis. GENESIS MIDNIGHT SPECIAL 1974 /OXFORD 1973 Before Genesis became a household ipecac, they were an art rock band with great complexity in their music. Peter Gabriel was the singer and everything about his performances were odd. This collection has a TV show, a live concert, and one other performance. This is an excellent introduction to early Genesis.

GIGGLESNORT HOTEL Goofy TV show from the early 80s. complete with scale models and puppets. Supposedly canned because it was too frightening and odd for kids. 

THE GONG SHOW MOVIE (1980) The Gong Show movie is different because it is not what you expect: it actually follows the creator of the show and tries to give viewers the life of a man trying to keep the integrity of the show and the censors off of his back. The film is not a documentary, but it doesn't seem far from the truth.

GONZO VOL. 1 HUNTER S. THOMPSON assorted interviews: from Letterman to Conan and c-span to charlie rose, these tapes have hours of the great Dr. Gonzo's wit and bitterness.

GONZO VOL 2 Same thing as above, but the last Charlie Rose interview of the tape cuts off towards the end.

PETER GREENAWAY'S SHORT FILMS Three Greenaway shorts on one DVD: Dear Phone, Water Wrackets, and A Walk Through H.

GRIM REAPER/ 39 STRIPES (1976/ 1979) Two films by Ormond and Pirkle, the men who brought you the Christian scare classics If Footmen Tire You, What Will Horses Do? and The Burning Hell (Available here at Truegore Vintage DVD). A race car driving kid, who refuses to go to church, ends up chewed up on the track. The rest of the movie is the torment of him in hell and his family having to listen to Estus talk endlessly about it! 39 Stripes is essentially the same flick but with bikers! Loads of cheap gore, tawdry monsters and Christian propaganda that will make your jaw drop! Religion doesn’t get any funnier than this blood drenched series.

HWY: AN AMERICAN PASTORAL (196?) Jim Morrison can describe his film better than I can: "It's more  poetic, more of an exercise for me, kind of a warm-up. Essentially there's no plot, no story in the traditional sense...A person, played by me, comes down out of the mountains and hitchhikes his way through the desert. We don't see it, but we later assume that he stole a car and he drives into the city and it just ends there. He checks into a hotel and goes out to a nightclub or something. It just kind of ends like that...and when the musics over, turn off the lights...it is a very beautiful film.

HELLZAPOPPIN (1941) Olsen and Johnson star in this live action, experimental cartoon of slapstick and surrealism. This film could be a cold stab at the studio system and clichés beginning to capture Hollywood in the 1940s. Nothing compares to the genius of The Marx Brothers, but Hellzapoppin may come close. It's great to see American film experiments in the 1940s, and this is absolutely an experimental film with meaning beyond the jokes.

HOME MOVIES (1980) Directed by Brian De Palma. A ball of nonsense that actually amounts to something. A young boy documents his family life and gets tips form "The Maestro," Kirk Douglas."

HOTEL ROOM  (1993) Directed by David Lynch/ Starring Crispin Glover.  The lives of people are chronicled from 1932-1993 in this made for television series by David Lynch.

THE IMMORTAL ONE (1980) A high class, call girl loses her memory after a car accident and has to rediscover herself.

THE INCIDENT (1967) Starring Martin Sheen and Donna Mills. A group of young thugs terrorize the subways with racism and hate. The scenes of attacks on innocent people are disturbing and violent; this added with the realism of the film, makes The Incident a difficult one to get out of your head.

INDUSTRIAL SYMPHONY NO. 1: THE DREAM OF THE BROKEN HEARTED (1990) Directed by David Lynch. An odd opera of sorts from the surreal mind of David Lynch.

ISLAND WOMEN (1979) Starring Brigitte Lahaie.

JOHNNY GOT HIS GUN (1971) A young man loses his arms and legs in WWI; he doesn't know if he is asleep or dreaming, dead or alive. He soon figures out how to communicate with his doctors to make them executioners. This is the movie Metalica turned into a rock video.

KILL EUGENE CHADBOURNE This is an outsider art goof ball, for fans of Chadbourne.

KHOONI MURDAA INDIAN NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1989) NO SUBTITLES. Cheap as hell Indian version of Nightmare on Elm Street--lay down the plastic coverings.

BOB LARSON HALLOWEEN SPECIAL What an amusing lunatic. Watch a satanist call a radio show and discuss his newborn child; Bob then begins to pray for the baby; the satanists begins to get angry, saying, "Don't pray for my baby." I don't know why, but it's counterproductive hilarity. There is also a gay man who gets exorcised by Bob; it is so obvious the man is an actor, or a bad actor. Either way this program is the comedy we have been looking for, folks.

LIVE LIKE A COP, DIE LIKE A MAN (1976)  Directed by Ruggero Deodato.  The director of Cannibal Holocaust  creates a violent cop film with two hard asses that are ruthless on the job.  The film opens with two purse snatchers dragging a woman along the sidewalk by her purse straps; to get the purse, one of the snatchers gets off the bike to kick the woman in the head.  Incredible amounts of action and violence make this a must for fans of  Dirty Harry or Charles Bronson.  GET THIS TITLE presented with COLOR BOX ART here

MAD MAGAZINE TV SPECIAL (1975) This animated half-hour program was developed in the true spirit of Mad Magazine, with skits featuring characters from the magazine, as well  as satirical skits about popular programming of the day. Just like watching an issue of the magazine on your TV set!

MAGMA COMPILATION Excellent collection of the great band that made up their own language and created a science fiction, epic sound that only they can produce. This collection is filled with live footage.

MAN RAY SHORT FILMS (192?) A great collection of short films from one of the founders of the Dada movement, Man Ray.

CHARLES MANSON INTERVIEWS and COURT PROCEEDINGS (2 DVDs) Tom Snyder interviews Manson along with other interviews and court room rants.

THE MEIER CHRONICLES (1979) A nice documentary about a man and his huge collection of UFO photographs.

MIAMI GOLEM (1985) Starring David Warbeck. A scientist has grown a cell from a meteorite and a wealthy businessman wants it for his own evil gains.

MONDO CANDIDO (1975) In Italian w/ English Subtitles/ Directed by Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco E. Prosperi. From the creators of Mondo Cane and Farewell Uncle Tom comes their rendition of Voltaire's Candide. A young man is thrown from the castle, because of relations with the king's daughter. He must fend for himself in the wild world of sex and debauchery. GET THIS TITLE presented with COLOR BOX ART here

MR. T: BE SOMEBODY OR BE SOMEBODY'S FOOL (1984) Mr. T stars in this educational film that instills morals and laughter into the horrors of the human heart.

MURDER IN A BLUE WORLD (1973) Brutal savagery in a future world. A twisted and violent flamboyance of a futuristic biker film. This film is a European attempt at Clockwork Orange; of course, it doesn't work, but the ride is still entertaining.

MY BEST FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY (1987) plus WHO DO YOU THINK YOUR FOOLING? plus the sequel. Quintan Tarantino's first film plus the film that exposes his plagiarism in Reservoir Dogs.

NIGHT OF THE STRANGLER (1972) You may want to watch this film because it stars Mickey Dolenz from The Monkees, but even if you hate The Monkees, this film is worth a watch because it is a controversial thriller. A racially diverse couple are murdered and the girl's brothers try to figure out the disturbing mystery.

NIRVANA (1997) Starring Christopher Lambert. A successful video game designer discovers that his recent creation has a dangerous virus within it. The main character of the game has achieved consciousness and begs for its own execution.

PINK ANGELS (1971) Catch the Pink Angels ... if you can! This gay motorcycle film has a certain surreal quality to it. Did I mention it's a 1970's gay biker flick?

PRAY FOR THE WILDCATS (1974) Andy Griffith plays a perverted villain on a desert race with Robert Reed and William Shatner, which leads them into a surreal world of drugs and violence.

POUND (1970) directed by Robert Downey Sr. A political satire with humans dressed as dogs waiting to be adopted or put to sleep. Great lines fall throughout this cult classic.

RABID DOGS  (1974) Directed by Mario Bava.  Bava's first successful attempt at realism. Criminals on the run from the police take three hostages: a woman, a man, and his son. Filmed almost entirely inside a speeding car, Bava creates the tension in each character perfectly.

REEL WILD CINEMA with Sandra Bernhard entire run DVD set. You're gonna love watching this sexy monster talk with Vampira, Roger Corman, and many other B Films creators, circled by strange film clips and segments. What an awesome show from the world of lost TV.

RETURN OF DR. MABUSE (1961) English Dubbed. Commissioner Lohmann returns in this addition to the Dr. Mabuse series. Lohmann is ready for his vacation time, but someone has killed an INTERPOL agent; all leads turn toward an honorable FBI agent; needless to say, Lohmann doesn't buy it. After finding a book about Dr. Mabuse in the hands of the victim, Lohmann decides to pursue this eccentric character. Return of Dr. Mabuse is an excellent addition to the series of German films; the film is mysterious and the plot really pulls you into the picture.
